Just about every horse SIM game I’ve ever owned has had a horse database. You know, one of those nifty things you can refer to to see how many horses there are and stuff. Most of the old-time SIMs had a neat one integrated into their site from BasePortal, as did mine that ever got to the point of actual horses.
ESv1 had one of these, but it was a simply list on one topic, giving each horse an ID number. It was never used beyond the point of seeing how many horses we had. By the time we were at 250 or so, it got pretty lengthy and annoying to read/use, so it was removed upon v2’s release.
So, for the longest time, I’ve wanted to have some sort of database for THS; problem was, I wanted the horses to all be in order of when they were created. Since I didn’t have the database idea until the game was well started, I figured it wasn’t a possibility.
Tonight, I started the official THSWYOALS database, which won’t be released for the public to see until I’ve actually gotten it all written out.
For now, every horse has a unique ID that’s decided on which order I add them to the database. Once I have every horse initially loaded up, I’ll go back and give them an ID based on their topic number.
Anyway, my whole point of using this database is just for general knowledge. :d
For instance:
Of the 40 horses currently listed, 19 are mares. Therefore, a mare sale should happen soon.
Just thought I’d mention this. So you guys don’t think I’m slacking off; that’s partly what THSWord is for, after all. ;]
